Just one day before she was to surrender to Los Angeles authorities in 2010, Lindsay Lohan’s reported new lawyer decided to part ways from Lindsay's case.
Celebrity lawyer Robert Shapiro reportedly resigned from Lohan’s case, forcing her old attorney Shawn Chapman Holley to represent Lohan once again.
Shapiro strolled into Judge Revel’s office at the Beverly Hills Court house, presumably to announce his stepping down. Holley was rumored to have no choice but to continue as Lohan’s legal representative, even though she announced her resignation a couple of weeks ago.
Sources added that Lohan was looking specifically for a lawyer then who would keep her out of jail, despite the improbability of her wishes.
But according to a report from RadarOnline.com, sources from the Lohan camp insist Holley "never really left."
"Bob had been there guiding us … he was great, but he was just consulting, that’s all he ever was."
Holley never signed the substitution of attorney form, effectively keeping her as the official lawyer on the case.
It has to be mentioned that Lindsay Lohan's lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, dismissed reports Lindsay drank alcohol and used drugs during her stint in rehab.
Lindsay left rehab at the Betty Ford Clinic in 2011 but there were rumors she could have violated her probation during her stay there.
Lindsay Lohan's lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, has insisted her client was clean all the way through her stay.
"The Los Angeles Times" newspaper suggested then that Riverside County detectives believed that Lindsay violated her probation during an incident with a staff member at the clinic by refusing to take an alcohol sobriety test.
Lindsay Lohan's lawyer,Chapman, quoted as saying: "I had numerous conversations with Betty Ford counsellors and doctors over the course of Lindsay's treatment there and it was never suggested by anyone that she ever drank or used drugs. Her discharge letter from the facility is totally consistent with that."
